In the music industry, the SL1200 direct-drive turntable has become a standard since its initial release in 1972. A few of the turntable variations that Technics has created throughout the years are the SL1210 mk2, M3D, Mk5, M5g, and LTD GLD. Quartz-lock technology, which enabled more exact playback speed, was one advancement in the mk2.
